Moving into a New Home in Fall:
How to stay Organized

Fall is one of the most popular times for people to be moving into their brand-new home! Big moves can become stressful very easy so here are some great tips on how to keep your move organized and simple!

  • Color code moving boxes for which room they go in. (Using the floor plan of the home can help to classify rooms)
  • Make a list of what each box contains
  • Tie cords and place them in baggies: this prevents electronics from getting tangled.
  • Create a checklist (helps to know the steps for all stages of your move)
  • Create an Inventory list (can find printout templates online also)
  • When packing make designated piles for:
    • Sold
    • Donate/giveaway
    • Trash
    • Items that movers wont load (due to safety) if using a moving company
  • Take photos of important items: evidence about items condition and visual aids to help reassemble any furniture
  • Collect and Organize your important documents: makes them more accessible during your move in case you need them.
  • If wanting to use a professional moving company make sure to research. This ensures that you are getting a reliable company that is trustworthy.
